It’s Hard to Find a Friend

A friend of mine (Scotty) from home recommended Pedro the Lion to me years ago. For whatever reason, I just got around to listening to this album, and I’m really loving it.

Concept albums can be a risk, especially because they can limit the scope of the listener. It can sometimes give definitions to songs they never wanted defined so narrowly. However with this album, I find the songs stand quite well on their own, and if you wish to draw a line between songs you can. David Bazan sings to you the woes of a married man struggling with infidelity, loss, love, lust, and corporate greed. Or you know, whatever you want.
